5th Annual Chili Bowl Cook Off - Participation Registration Deposit
The facility will provide electricity, sample sized serving cups, tasting spoons, ticket receptacle, napkins, limited tables and chairs.
Each team will need a crock pot or electric cook top. The chili must maintain a temperature of 165° per the Department of Health.
Teams will also need a cooler, paper towels, serving spoons, pot holders, and a meat thermometer and a plastic table cloth to cover at least a six-foot table is required. Themed décor is optional, but will make it fun.
A minimum of 4 gallons of prepared chili is required.
Part of the competition is your presentation, teams are encouraged to be creative in their approach to earning tickets.
Tickets can be cast until 7:30p.m. Winners will be announced and prizes awarded. First prize is $300, Honorable Mention is $100.
Chili must be homemade and prepared in advance of event. It must be prepared in a kitchen that has been inspected and approved by the Department of Health of that county (e.g., restaurant, church, fire hall, school, etc.) without exception. A copy of the site’s inspection certificate will be required to be presented with the chili.
Check in for participants will begin at 4:00p.m. Ample parking is available. Spaces will be available on a first come, first served basis.
No outside alcohol may be brought into the event. Beer, wine, soft drinks and water will be available for purchase.
Register by Monday, October 3rd.
Each team will receive two free bracelets.
Teams are encouraged to promote themselves and bring attendees on the day of the event to improve their chances of winning. Additional voting tickets are one for $3 or three for $5. A donation of three canned goods at the door reduces bracelet price to $20.
Registration Deposit is returned at the event, unless participant wants to voluntarily donate the fee at that time.
